Dear Patrons and Contributors,
As 2017 winds down, all of us here at UNITED SIKHS want to take the opportunity to thank you for your dedicated support. Your contributions and commitments have not only helped us achieve our goals for Sikh Aid, International Advocacy, Humanitarian Aid, and Community Education & Empowerment but have also given us the confidence to aim even higher for 2018.
UNITED SIKHS began in 1999 with a few youngsters from the New York metropolitan area engaging their resources and assisting in the socio-economic development of local immigrant communities. Today, UNITED SIKHS is a global grassroots organization with chapters in America, Asia, and Europe that pursue projects for those whose needs are most dire.
As we reflect on what we have achieved over this year alone, we are humbled to share our milestones have been exceeded with the Annual Sikh Summit 2017, Civil Rights Survey, as well as our rapid response in the Disaster Relief sector with unprecedented devastation from Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. The Puerto Rico Relief mission has re-established UNITED SIKHS at the forefront of FEMA’s response efforts while our ongoing service to the Rohingya refugees has reaffirmed our long-standing relationship with the United Nations Humanitarian Aid program. We have served more than 1 million meals to the Rohingyas in Cox Bazaar of Bangladesh, treated over 36,000 patients, and provided counseling to over 50,000 victimized families.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the local organizations and government agencies across the globe for their partnership as we all networked to bridge great divides and bring resources at the height of urgency.
As we step into 2018, we reignite the flames within and pledge to keep this cauldron burning with the love of Seva and the spirit of Guru in our hearts.
Once again, we wish you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year 2018 !!!
