UNITED SIKHS aimed to offer immediate relief and protection to the endangered Sikh community. In addition, the organization sought to alert international partners and authorities to the escalating situation, calling for external intervention to mediate peace.

UNITED SIKHS, led by their Sikh Aid Project Coordinator Mohinderjit Singh, quickly responded by providing fire extinguishers to the community, ensuring they had basic means of protection against potential petrol bomb attacks. The team reached out to local officials requesting additional security and challenged conflicting media reports that claimed no attacks had occurred. 

To advocate for the affected community, UNITED SIKHS’ International Civil & Human Rights Advocacy (ICHRA) legal team notified government partners in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom, calling for international support to mediate peace. As an affiliate of the United Nations, they urged the community to remain non-violent while standing firm in their advocacy for minority rights.

UNITED SIKHS provided crucial aid to the community amidst a lockdown and escalated the issue to an international level, urging global authorities to intervene. Their efforts ensured that the plight of the Sikh community was not overlooked, while promoting non-violence and continued advocacy for minority communities facing human rights violations worldwide.
