UNITED SIKHS Responds to Morocco Earthquake: Providing Urgent Aid and Support

On september 10, a catastrophic earthquake of magnitude 6.8 struck Morocco, making it the most destructive in 120 years. The earthquake caused widespread devastation in the Al Haouz region, near Marrakech, resulting in over 2,000 deaths and leaving at least 2,059 people injured, with the toll continuing to rise. The region, home to 840,000 people, was severely impacted, with approximately 300,000 individuals affected by this disaster.

In response to this tragedy, UNITED SIKHS mobilized our humanitarian aid teams to provide immediate relief to those most affected. Our task was to deliver critical supplies, including clean water, food, tents, and other essential resources, to the communities facing immense hardship and to ensure that those in dire need received support as quickly as possible.

Our dedicated teams promptly deployed to the hardest-hit areas, working tirelessly to distribute life-saving resources. We coordinated with local authorities and partners to reach vulnerable populations and provide immediate relief. In addition, Gurvinder Singh, our International Humanitarian Aid Director, expressed our solidarity with the people of Morocco and called on the global community to join us in offering assistance. Our teams have also been active in other disaster-stricken regions like Turkey and Ukraine, where we continue our humanitarian efforts with the support of our generous donors.

Thanks to the support of our volunteers and donors, we have been able to provide critical aid to those suffering in Morocco, ensuring that many have access to food, clean water, and shelter in the wake of this tragedy. Our global commitment remains strong, and we are continuing our efforts to provide long-term assistance to affected communities. Your support makes it possible for us to stand by those in need during their most difficult moments.
