November 2025 – Global Release

As the year comes to a close, UNITED SIKHS reflects on the extraordinary resilience of communities we have served and the generosity of those who have stood with us.

In Panjab, where devastating floods swept away homes and livelihoods, we witnessed both unimaginable hardship and unbreakable spirit. Families who had lost nearly everything still welcomed our volunteers with warmth, offering gestures of dignity and hospitality that revealed resilience amid despair.

Even as floodwaters rose around them, children found moments of laughter and light, their joy a living reminder of hope in the hardest of times. Villagers, gathered in waterlogged streets, shared what little they had with their neighbors, to help sustain their lives, embodying the Sikh principle of Seva (selfless service) through acts of compassion that carrythe community forward.

Sukhwinder Singh, Director of the UNITED SIKHS Canada Chapter, who joined relief efforts on the ground, shared his reflections:

“I’ve witnessed the unbreakable spirit of the people in flood-affected Panjab. Despite their struggles, they greet you with a smile, offer what little they have – a cup of tea or a meal – and show incredible resilience. But behind their warm hospitality lies a painful reality – a daily struggle to survive. Let’s come together to support them in their time of need.”

Beyond Panjab, the UMEED Helpline has continued to answer thousands of calls. Each contact with the Helpline represents a family in crisis, whether facing displacement, legal challenges, or emotional trauma, and each response is a critical line of hope for those in need.

Through your Dasvandh contributions, UNITED SIKHS has been able to connect families to emergency aid, legal advocacy, and counseling, ensuring that no cry for help goes unanswered.

This year has reminded us that resilience alone is not enough; it must be met with solidarity. Your Dasvandh gift has transformed survival into dignity, despair into hope, and isolation into community.

As we step into a new year, UNITED SIKHS recommits to standing with those in need, and we invite our global family of donors, partners, and volunteers to continue this journey of service.

Together, we can ensure that the smiles we saw in Panjab are not fleeting, but the beginning of recovery and renewal.
