A deadly earthquake of 7.0 magnitude rocked Haiti killing hundreds of thousands of people and leaving millions homeless. UNITED SIKHS is rushing emergency supplies to thousands of people left homeless by the earthquake. The Sikh Aid team fears massive loss of life in Haiti.

“The priority for the next 24 hours is rescue. During this stage it is critical to supply food, water and emergency supplies to survivors. After 72 hours the priority will shift to recovering dead bodies and restoring critical services,” said Lt Col Gurbachan Singh, UNITED SIKHS Humanitarian Coordinate Director.
The UNITED SIKHS team is making its way to Haiti to assess the situation and setup a base camp. The Sikh Aid team will be distributing emergency survival kits including food, water, blankets. The team will also be providing emergency health services to the injured.
