After a treacherous journey and surviving on little more than candy bars, Kulbir and his family neared the Polish border. His hopes of finding support from fellow Sikhs came true when he spotted the Nishan Sahib at Camp Nalwa, set up by UNITED SIKHS. The volunteers quickly provided food and shelter for his wife and child. UNITED SIKHS also helped them secure an overnight stay in Medyka before they continued to Krakow.
Kulbir and his family safely reached Germany, where they found relief from the dangers of war. Grateful for the help of UNITED SIKHS, Kulbir expressed a desire to volunteer and help deliver supplies back into Ukraine. Now, as he plans his family’s future, he’s committed to giving back, just as UNITED SIKHS gave to him during his time of need.
