UNITED SIKHS– Pandemic Support for India’s COVID-19 Second Wave

India is currently grappling with a devastating second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. With over 300,000 fresh cases reported daily and more than 200,000 deaths, the healthcare system is overwhelmed. Hospitals across the country are facing critical shortages of oxygen, medicines, and essential equipment, while cemeteries and crematoriums are struggling to keep up with the rising death toll.

UNITED SIKHS, a United Nations-affiliated non-profit organization, recognized the urgent need to respond to this escalating crisis in India. Their mission was to provide critical relief supplies, including food and emergency support, to the severely impacted areas and ensure that families in distress had access to basic necessities during this challenging time.

UNITED SIKHS rapidly mobilized its Emergency Response Teams across India and globally to deliver immediate aid. In India, they supplied oxygen cylinders, medicines, and other life-saving resources to hospitals overwhelmed by the influx of patients. Beyond India, they coordinated efforts in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Australia, and Canada. UNITED SIKHS provided over 1 million meals to families in need, and in the United States alone, they worked with local authorities to provide 30,000 meals to New Yorkers during the state’s lockdown.

The quick and decisive actions of UNITED SIKHS not only saved lives in India but also exemplified the organization’s global commitment to humanitarian aid. By stepping up when the need was greatest, they provided crucial support during one of the most difficult times in India’s history, delivering both medical assistance and food relief to those who needed it most.
