UNITED SIKHS Presents

UNITED SIKHS Providing Relief after the Panjab Floods

In the aftermath of devastating floods that submerged vast areas of rural Punjab, UNITED SIKHS immediately mobilized to address the urgent needs of affected communities. The floodwaters created unsanitary conditions, leading to severe health risks and exacerbating the challenges for the already vulnerable populations.
As a heartbreaking glimpse of the condition of hundreds of families, the humble dwelling of this family couldn’t survive floodwaters

The primary goal for UNITED SIKHS was to provide immediate relief in the form of essential supplies and medical aid. The focus was on addressing health concerns, particularly the rise of waterborne diseases, and ensuring the provision of food and fodder for the affected communities and their livestock.

UNITED SIKHS volunteers reached the most affected regions, including Rupnagar, Patiala, Shahkot, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Mansa districts. They waded through chest-deep waters to distribute vital medicines, essential supplies, and cattle fodder. Volunteers coordinated closely with local authorities to identify the most impacted families, ensuring aid reached those who needed it the most. They also prepared to assist with potential future floods in areas threatened by the release of water from nearby rivers.

Communities, like those in Janian and Shahpur Bela villages, expressed immense gratitude for the life-saving supplies. By providing not only food and medical supplies but also fodder for livestock, UNITED SIKHS ensured comprehensive support for the flood-affected families. Their proactive approach continues as they monitor flood-prone areas and prepare for future emergencies, reaffirming their commitment to supporting Punjab’s rural communities through this crisis.
