UNITED SIKHS Presents

UNITED SIKHS Relief Efforts Underway in Flooded Muktsar Sahib Punjab Villages

The villages of Sri Muktsar Sahib in Punjab are facing severe devastation due to waterlogging caused by a rising water table and incessant rains. Farmlands, homes, and villages are submerged under 4-5 feet of water, threatening the livelihoods of farmers and villagers. The standing paddy crop is at risk of total loss, and homes are being damaged as roofs collapse. Residents are confined to rooftops, animals are dying from hunger and disease, and skin infections are spreading rapidly due to the unsanitary conditions.
UNITED SIKHS recognized the critical need for emergency relief in these waterlogged villages. The team’s primary objectives were to prevent an outbreak of diseases, provide medical support, deliver essential supplies to the affected families, and offer aid to save livestock.

UNITED SIKHS mobilized its relief team to the area, setting up mobile medical camps equipped with ambulances to deliver urgent care. Over 100 tarpaulin sheets and construction materials were distributed to repair damaged homes, and the team delivered fodder to feed the starving cattle. Parminder Singh, leading the efforts on the ground, coordinated the team to assess the damage and understand the immediate needs of the villagers before initiating relief operations.

Through these efforts, UNITED SIKHS has been able to offer essential medical care and supplies to alleviate the suffering of the villagers. The relief efforts have helped stabilize the situation by preventing the spread of disease, providing temporary shelter, and ensuring that livestock are fed. The community’s urgent needs are being met, and the organization’s presence continues to offer hope and assistance during this ongoing crisis.

As a global humanitarian organization, UNITED SIKHS remains committed to standing by those affected by natural disasters and man-made crises.
